In the studio with Sara
This was my first studio shoot of the year and also my first shoot with Sara. I think it best when working with a model for the first time to keep things relatively simple. In the past I have tried to do far to complicated things on a first shoot, sometime they have worked and other not. I don’t have the freedom to get things wrong anymore and so keep things simple and see how we get on.
The shoot was at Silkwood Studio in Cleckheaton a studio both of us had used before. It is a great studio with lots of space.
The shots are all portraits. The positioning of the lighting is similar in all of the pictures apart from the black and white clothes were I have gone for a strong side light. The aperture was the main thing that I wanted to work with switching from f4 to f1.2 on my 85mm. With the shots at f1.2 I have used high speed flash at shot at 1000.
Sara is a great model to work with, she delivers everything that I wanted. This has resulted in a strong series of portrait pictures.
