With the easing of lockdown restrictions I wanted to do a shoot as all I had photographed for the last 3 months were flowers in the garden. I also thought it would be good to see how I could work with social distancing.
I wanted to create pictures with a happy summery feel mainly. First I wanted a place outside as this seemed a better option for a first shoot back than inside, also it had to be somewhere I was familiar with. I know someone who owns some woods and it is a location I have used many times in the past so that was easy. Next a model, it had to be someone fairly local that had a car, as the woods are a distance from any public transport. I found Natalia who looked to have that happy smiley friendly look that I was after. I have not worked with her before but felt she would be right for the ideas I had.
The night before the weather forecast was for thunder in the afternoon so not wanting to be put off, as I’m not a big fan of the weather forecast, we moved the shoot an hour earlier. The weather started okay but as the day went on it got sunnier.
Social distancing takes a bit of thinking about but doing all pictures on my 85mm did help.
